The work of the British artist-designers James Russell and Hannah Plumb, collectively called JamesPlumb, is known on the design and fashion circuits for its quirky, sometimes haunting mash-ups of antique or simply discarded furniture and objects. The couple’s creations are shown regularly at Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan, and they designed the interior of Hostem, the men’s clothing store in London’s Shoreditch neighborhood (and its recent addition, Chalk Room), as well as collaborated with the photographer Bruce Weber on a window at Selfridge’s in 2010. What is it about the Danish and their uncanny knack for making everything seem so damn stylish?? Even the simplest things seem to look better when a Dane does it. I have serious culture envy and I can't get over it. Is it the white walls or the bare wood floors or just some kind of genetic mutation that has developed as a result of living in a far-flung northern country? It just seems that living in the happiest place on earth gives the Danish a leg up when it comes to the style department and these photos just confirm it! Damn it!
